The Morris Performing Arts Center is pleased to present the outdoor lunch-time concert series, Fridays by the Fountain on the Jon R. Hunt Plaza (in front of the Morris Theater) each summer between the months of June and August. The concert series traditionally runs every Friday and features live entertainment from local Blues, Jazz, Rock, Folk, and Country bands. The concerts are free and open to the public and run from 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM.
Food vendors are available and they offer a variety of lunchtime favorites including pizza, sandwiches, salads and pasta, or you may choose to 'brown bag' it. Tables are set in and around the plaza to give the concertgoers a space to eat and rest and enjoy the festivities or you may opt to bring a blanket and relax on the lawn.
Kevin "Q" Quarandillo on lead guitar and lead vocals, has essentially hand picked an A-list of musicians that include: James "Jimmy" Hill on organ, piano, and lead vocals; John "Johnny on the Spot" Smeltzer on bass; and solidifying the group is David Seyboldt aka "Boris Larue" on drums and vocals.
The musicians' influences are various, but the sum is a pleasing sound based predominately on blues, with heavy influences of rock, soul, funk, and reggae. Find out more about this band at www.qsonicsband.com
